Never Fished with a Spin and Glow Before?

Many have never heard of this classic, but they’re a wildly effective option when fishing with bait for salmon, walleye, flounder, and many others; wherever there is a little bit of current to get the lure spinning. Spin and Glows are buoyant and when baited with roe have caught countless salmon throughout the years, but they can also be baited with worms and cut or whole bait to target other species of fish.

Ways to Fish

Spin and glows can be fished from the riverbank or trolled behind a boat from a bottom bouncer. If fishing from shore, you can fish them directly on the bottom or on a drop-shot rig. The buoyancy of the lure will gently lift the bait off of the bottom where it is free to spin and attract fish.

Using the Egg Loop Knot

All of our Spin and Glows are tied with egg loop knots so that salmon skeins or other bait can be secured directly to the hook. Simply push a little line through the eye of the hook and the loop will open up. Insert your salmon skein into the loop and cinch the line around it. Then, bury the hook into the skein, making sure to bury the stinger hook as well if there is one. Tuna meat, chicken gizzards, liver pate; whatever your bait of choice is, try tying some into a spawn net, hook it on exactly as you would a salmon skein and go fishing!
